Our
little neighborhood salon was opened in 1946 by my Grandmother
Merle. Still thriving over 60 years later, the newcomers
are mixing in with the clientelle that has been coming in
since the 40's and 50's. In a single day at Frederick's
you could see a child's haircut, a bride on her wedding
day and a little old lady with a head full of rollers.
The salon originally had two locations,
the first being the historic site downtown Seattle on Pike
where Nike Town is now located. The second location on 86th
in Greenwood which is now a Mexican grocery. The third and
final location is now in the heart of up and coming Greenwood
at 85th and Greenwood Ave. |
